You need to have tools to mass slaughter stuff or it just becomes a boring grind. I know people complaint about it but as i told them then and i will tell them again. The ability to create powerfull tier 4 units of slaughter. Its so focused on battle's that stuff that made me love age of wonders(and the reason i refused to acknowledge this as an age of wonders game) was removed. This is what is killing my interest in planetfall. In there obsession with the battle system they put so many enemies on the maps that you cant go a single turn without fighting.Īs avoiding fights gets you behind in the xp race. This means that every single fight is a slog.Īnd the combat system is not that great that i want to do it 50 times in a row. In there obsessions with battle's they removed one of the tools that allowed you to skip boring grinding fights. The map feels like it is just there because it has to be there rather then accauly serving a purpose. They also prevent you to build cities where you want.Ĭhock points, difficulty terrian, rivers, etc. They are unpleasent to look at and are just meaningless busy work. They mean nothing but a minnor stat upgrade. ![]() This caused the strategy part to be poorly thought designed. They where so focused on there battle's(Which are great) that they compleetly neglected the strategy part of the game. Planetfall suffers from what i like to call: Let me share with you what bothers me and perhaps it helps you get a better understanding what bothers you. Specifically the ones with the melee-focused starter hero. One piece of info I can give is that I'm playing as the Amazons. If you have any specific questions to prompt useful information from me, I'd be happy to answer them. After months of self-quarantine (I have a wonky immune system and probably would become extremely ill and have long term complications should I survive) things have really started getting to me. Be it the X-com style tactical battles, or city management (which also happens to be weird and clunky, but I figure that's something to just get used to).Īfter some reflection, I do think some of it is general depression. It's just a general sense of things being bland. You aren't wrong, I haven't given much info, but really I don't know what to share. ![]() i know random internet commentators are well known for their, uh, cutting insights, but we are not mind readers Yes, the internet is more known for useless responses that are mostly meant to hurt.
